
Hi, I’m Jill Gillespie – RYT 500, Plant-Based Foodie, & Adventurer.
Eight years ago, I wanted to challenge myself so I signed up for my first Hot Yoga class. I had attended a few basic yoga classes and practiced in my living room with Ali Mcgraw’s Yogamind & Body DVD. That tells you how long ago it was! I was so nervous to try Hot Yoga thinking, “It’s how hot in there?”.
I entered the studio and the smell just about bulldozed me over. It was a straight up sweat, mixed with a thousand peoples stinky feet. I inhaled deeply, desperately trying to get used to the putrid smell burning my nostrils. I felt a little queasy and second guessed this yearning to try something new. I fumbled my way through class and the next thing I know, I was hooked.
A short while later, I tried a few other studios that had antimicrobial floors and the smell improved immensely. After one class during Savasana, the instructor sprayed cool water with a little lavender oil over my sweat drenched bod. Poof! I felt instantly cooler and smelled like a princess!
I was inspired to dabble with my own natural ingredients and Namastank was born.
